Payroll Clerk
Project Consulting Services, Inc. (PCS) is a multi-state engineering, project management and consulting firm is seeking to hire an experienced, skilled Payroll Clerk in its Metairie, Louisiana Corporate office with at least 3 years of previous relevant experience processing payroll. Requirements and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- The ability to handle multiple projects in a timely manner
- Proficient and skilled knowledge of Excel spreadsheets/processes
- Reviewing employee timesheets for inclusion and proper posting
- Updating payroll records by entering any changes to employee information or benefits such as job title changes, exemptions and saving deductions
- Preparing reports that include summaries of earnings, withholdings, tax deductions, leave, and non-taxable wages
- Calculating payroll liabilities by determining employee taxes, including federal and state income and social security tax, and calculating employer’s payments for social security, unemployment and worker’s compensation
- Resolving payroll discrepancies and answering any employee payroll queries
- Reviewing employee expense reimbursement requests for adherence to company expense reimbursement polices and processing of related payments
- Practical knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures of payroll and withholding tax compliance issues
- Compiling and processing state and federal wage and income tax withholding in multiple states and compiling and submitting corresponding quarterly wage reports
- Maintaining all payroll operations according to company policies and procedures
